Immediately evident typical Chianti traits: violet, black cherry in particular. On the finish a slight spiciness.

Taste

Nice taut sip, outlined by smooth tannins, with a pleasantly bitter exit: fine citrus sensations and a memory of carob.

Notes

A sincere wine with character, which finds its reason for strength in its immediacy.

Important soups, rosticciana.

Winemaker's notes

The best grapes are selected and led to alcoholic fermentation, aided by pumping over and punching down, with soaking on the skins for about 15 days in temperature-controlled steel vats, followed by malolactic transformation.

History

In Chianti nomenclature, "Classico" means First in the sense of Original: the first document linking the wine to the area dates from 1398. The Chianti Classico territory extends from the southern hills of Florence to Siena.
