Masseria Altemura stands in the heart of the Salento peninsula, equidistant by the seas that bathe Puglia, the Ionian and the Adriatic, and benefit from the windy currents of one, more open to the Mediterranean, and the salinity of the other. The result is an extremely bright land, almost blinding to look at it, in every sense, given that in the most sunny periods the white stone that emerges on the surface between one and the other acts as a mirror in the sun's rays.

In the 130 hectares of corporate vineyards, the native Negroamaro and Aglianico varieties are also grown, all through a coordinated production chain coordinated with rigor and foresight by the Zonin family and followed by the valuable contribution of the winemaker Stefano Ferrante, of the agronyian Giacomo Manzoni and the agronomist director of Masseria Altemura Antonio Cavallo.

With the aim of pursuing the path of total quality, the Zonin family has started some experiments with the collaboration of well -known academics such as Prof. Attilio Scienza, in order to practice an accurate clonal selection and to evaluate the optimal state of the relationship that between the plant and the ground. The analyzes and mappings carried out on site before the vineyard plant have highlighted how the 300 hectares owned are of the same limestone origin, but of two distinct types of soil, one prevalent skeleton and the other with a frank-clay weaving. There is currently an extensive further experimentation on the Moscato, Malvasia Nera and Susumaniello varieties.
