Marchesi Antinori

The birthplace of the Marquis Antinori is the present Chianti Classic. It all began here. Today the winery represents an architectural marvel perfectly set among the vineyards of the Chianti. Here is the historic headquarters of Antinori renovated in 2012 and now also houses a museum and restaurant. Other estates are owned by the family in this area: Badia a Passignano and Tenuta Pèppoli.

TENUTA TIGNANELLO ANTINORI
Here we are faced with the winery's most prestigious estate, not because of the structure but because of the quality of the vineyards: exposure, soil and temperature ranges give life to the wines Antinori most iconic: Tignanello and Solaia. The former born in the 1970s was the first Sangiovese to age in barriques and, following what was happening in Bolgheri those years, vinified with other international grape varieties such as the Cabernet. Solaia, born a few years later, is today one of the most expensive Italian wines and one of the most valuable of course.

ANTINORI WINES - ESTATE GUADO AL TASSO
Around the 1930s, the family inherited the Tenuta Guado al Tasso in Bolgheri. Fifty years later that land is illuminated with a new light and incredible wines begin to be born. The family around the 1990s began making wine sensing that something special was being born in those parts. And so it was. Today Bolgheri is considered one of the most important areas in the wine world.

ANTINORI WINES - PIAN DELLE VIGNE
What about Montalcino? A family as important as the Marchesi Antinori and Tuscan to boot, could they not have an estate in Montalcino? In 1995 they bought the estate Pian delle Vigne and began producing Brunello di Montalcino with their personal style that has always distinguished them.

ANTINORI - CASTELLO DELLA SALA
In 1940 Niccolò Antinori became the owner of an estate in Umbria on the border with Tuscany, Castello della Sala. Already owned by the family but later passed into the hands of the Church. Here he sensed that the area's vocation for the production of white wines, which until then had remained marginal, could bring new luster to the estate. So between the 1970s and 1980s, together with a young Enzo Cotarella, they began to cultivate Chardonnay and Grechetto, and experimented with the use of barrique for the whites. Thus were born the wines Antinori whites and the legendary Cervaro della Sala.

ANTINORI IN FRANCIACORTA - TENUTA MONTENISA
In 1999 Antinori he purchased a winery in Franciacorta: Tenuta Montenisa and also began producing Sparkling wines Franciacorta with the name on the label Marchese Antinori. This acquisition represents that strategy of acquisitions of the group whose mission is to be able to be present in all the most prestigious areas of Italy with the production of wines of the highest quality.
