Cabernet Franc originates from the Gironde area in France and is often used together with Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon, giving rise to the famous "Bordeaux blend". Since it is often confused with Carmènere and Cabernet Sauvignon, the true extent of the Cabernet Franc vines is unknown despite a massive presence in Veneto, Chianti, Friuli and south-eastern Sicily. Cabernet Franc is a vine that stands out for its five-lobed leaves, of medium size while the bunch is medium compact of medium size with a pyramidal shape. The grape, which is also of medium size, is distinguished by a consistent, spheroidal-shaped skin with a pruinose blue-black skin. Vinolog24 offers a large section dedicated to Cabernet Franc wine with a very intense ruby red color, while on the palate it presents fruity and tannic notes and stands out for being a very full-bodied wine.
