Nebbiolo
TheNebbiolois among thevinesnobles of Italy and, in the Langhe, gives rise towinesfamous all over the world like theBaroloand theBarbaresco, two symbols of thePiedmont. In this section of our wine shop you will find all the best Nebbiolo-based wines, from Nebbiolo d'Alba to Barolo, from Gattinara to the reds of Valtellina. Widespread in Piedmont, Val d'Aosta and Lombardy, Nebbiolo has unique characteristics, starting with the color: dull red and garnet already in its youth. On the nose the recognizable notes are those of wild berries and violets, and sometimes ethereal scents; on the palate the tannin is evident, together with the earthy sensations. It is grown throughout Piedmont, from the Langhe where Barolo and Barbaresco are born in the Alba area, in Upper Piedmont in the Gattinara, Ghemme and Boca appellations, in the Roero and on the border with Val d'Aosta, in Carema. Each area gives life to different wines, starting from the simplest and most immediate Langhe Nebbiolo, up to the most complex and structured such as Barolo. In Lombardy, on the other hand, it is widespread in Valtellina, where it is called Chiavennasca: from here come wines that focus on fruit and elegance, such as the Sassella; also in Valtellina is produced Sfursat, Sforzato, a red from dried Nebbiolo grapes. Nebbiolo-based wines are perfect in combination with land cuisine and noble and important dishes, from truffles to braised meats. Your favorite Nebbiolo is definitely in this selection.
