In 2007, the Montalbera winery had the opportunity to be able to buy some vineyard plots in Castiglione Falletto and La Morra, from where some of the best Barolo comes. It is from there that the Barolo DOCG "Levoluzione" - Montalbera also comes. It rests for over thirty months in wooden barrels and barriques, and for at least a year in the bottle. It is a wine that is the child of careful and accurate wine-making practices, made up of maniacal selections and scrupulous vinification. Elegant and vigorous at the same time, it is conceived and obtained to satisfy enthusiasts, connoisseurs and followers of an authoritative wine such as Barolo.
Tasting Notes: Brilliant ruby red with garnet highlights. Broad and intense on the nose, marked by a rich bouquet of jammy red fruit, followed by a series of tertiary scents that bring to mind nutmeg, cinchona, licorice and spices in general. Full-bodied, harmonious and velvety on the sip, rightly tannic, balanced and persistent.
Pairings: Requires in pairing red meat preparations, game or venison. Excellent with beef tenderloin in red wine.

Other | The steady development of the Montalbera farms began more than thirty years ago with the purchase of the properties in Castagnole Monferrato and continues unabated with the acquisition of the best neighboring lands, not to mention the historic, long-standing family business in Castiglione Tinella. In 2007, the opportunity to purchase some splendidly vine-covered land in La Morra, in that Langa famous throughout the world for the production of Barolo, makes it likely to put a further stamp on the quality of the wines produced, with careful consideration to place on the market a Barolo DOCG that represents a modern vision of this extraordinary and very ancient Piedmontese wine, as modern are "the winemaking realities" signed Montalbera. At that precise moment the name LEVOLUZIONE was born and the desire to propose a wine of absolute and inimitable tradition, with a closer link to the grape of which it is the son. Careful viticultural practices, grape sorting and a maniacal search for quality in winemaking, have made it possible to keep perfectly intact that legacy of quality that the vineyard had created. L'refinement in French oak barrels and traditional casks for a period of three years, resulted in a wine of rare and precious quality. A wine elegant and convincing that adds to that line of exceptional products that are the company's emblem. |
