Made from 100% Merlot grapes from areas of our vineyards particularly suited to the characteristics of the variety, hand-picked at perfect ripeness at a later time than local custom. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for about 18 days followed by racking and crushing. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously as with all our wines. After an initial racking, the wine is placed in French oak barrels for 20-22 months. Once bottled, without filtering, it ages an additional 6 months in glass.

The 2018 vintage is characterized by excellent climatic balance. The ripening of the grapes continued with perfect gradualness until the harvest, which was carried out at a very late time compared to the custom for this grape variety in Tuscany. Reduced the load of grapes per plant (green harvest) from 20% to 40% of the spontaneous load, at "veraison" almost finished. Wine of great intensity, without any trace of vegetal notes, long and persistent with excellent balance.
