The Bolgheri Superiore produced by the Estate Guado al Tasso is a representation of one of the most historic estates of the Family Antinori inherited from Piero Antinori's mother in the 1930s' whose roots Gherardesque date back to 1200 years ago. The new flourishing has brought life to this area in the coast Maremma and laid the foundation for viticulture that led the region of Bolgheri to be considered as one of the areas wine-growing more prestigious of the Italian e world. In theamphitheater Bolgheri the estate boasts a wine-growing area of about 320 hectares that enjoys a climate perfect due to its proximity to the sea, whose breezes clean the sky allowing perfect sunshine for plants and control summer heat.

The Bolgheri Superiore is governed by the eponymous DOC, and is the expression of the estate and of the Antinori family whose coat of arms appears on the capsule of all bottles. The vineyards that give the best grapes to the production of this wine enjoy an almost perfect climatic condition thanks to the proximity to the sea, which makes the winters less cold and with better sunshine and the summers less arid. This red is composed of a blend of red grapes headed by percentage by the Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small share of Petit Verdot grown in the soil of origin alluvial clayey-sandy typical of the terroir of Bolgheri on which the estate stands. Upon arrival at the winery after the harvest, the grapes, divided for each parcel of collection, are carefully selected and de-stemmed, before pressing the berries are checked again so that only those with the perfect ripening Are brought to fermentation. The vinification is a very delicate art-in fact, each individual variety is treated separately to enhance its characteristics peculiarities. Primary fermentation and the maceration take place in tanks of steel stainless for 15-20 days while the malolactic takes place in barrels within the end of the harvest year. After a period of rest and stabilization, each plot is observed and the best ones are selected and joined. Before bottling, the wine refines for an additional period in barrique new French oak barriques.

Red. ruby intense.

Pleasant fruity and sweet spice scents stand out on the nose. Hints of plum, blueberry jam, leather, licorice root and balsamic aromas such as mint, capable of giving excellent sensations of freshness and complexity, are perceived.

The palate is taut, persistent, accompanied by refined tannins and delicate balsamic hints.

As with each harvest, the individual vineyard plots were divided into many small harvest plots according to the weather pattern of thevintage, distinguishing them by grape characteristics and vinifying them separately. Fermentation and maceration took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 15-20 days.
Aging After racking operations, the wine was transferred directly into barrels, where, by the end of the year, took place the malolactic fermentation. In February the best vinified plots were selected and blended. Guado al Tasso was then transferred back to barrique new French oak where it remained to age until bottling.
