Trentangeli is produced by Tormaresca, the company that bears the name and represents Antinori in southern Italy. Founded in 1998, it consists of 2 estates: Bocca di Lupo, located in the Murgia Barese and Masseria Maime, located in the beating heart of Puglia, Salento. Antinori's goal is precisely to enhance the Apulian terroir, which, although it has long been among the main producers of wine grapes on the peninsula, has never been able to express its identity to the fullest. By cultivating only native grape varieties in harmony and cohesion with the terroir, the winery has been contributing to the region's wine renaissance in recent years.
Produced on the Bocca di lupo estate, Tormaresca Trentangeli is the result of the winery's attention to detail, enthusiasm and passion. This wine is made from 70% Aglianico, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon the remainder Syrah. The best grapes are selected and harvested by hand between late August and the first weeks of October slightly overripe. After crushing, the must is transferred to stainless steel truncated conical tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place, which is followed by 15 days of maceration, which is managed with punching-down and delèstage. The wine is racked into French and Hungarian oak barrels for full malolactic fermentation and a period of aging, all for 10 months and followed by another 9 months in bottle. Tormaresca Trentangeli owes its name to Apulian rural tradition; the estate's namesake area was once a rest stop on transhumance journeys, and the pasture route was said to be protected by 30 angels. Today the Trentangeli area is a railroad crossing but its former magnificence can still be seen on the label. Intense ruby red. Marasca, raspberry, red fruit under spirits, with slight spicy and licorice notes. A wine of good structure and persistence, with a soft and ample entry, accompanied by good acidity and pleasant, velvety tannins.

Other | L'year 2009 in Minervino Murge was marked by a seasonal pattern marked by regularity and coolness until early summer. August and September, on the other hand, were hot months. This climatic course especially favored the late varieties such as Aglianico, which was able to achieve a gradual as well as optimal ripening of the grapes, thus being able to express high-level, elegant wines with aromatic fullness. |
