The Vermentino "Larcéra", from the Sicilian winery Mandrarossa, is a label from the Innovative Collection, dedicated to unusual and surprising wines that are not always part of the tradition of the area, but offer a new and original face of Sicily. It is made from a typically Mediterranean grape variety found mainly in Sardinia, Corsica, Liguria and the Tuscan Coast. A lover of the sun of the wind and the sea, Vermentino has settled well in Sicily, particularly in the southwestern area, where it has found the best conditions to give an intense, fresh and harmonious wine. "Larcéra" is the Vermentino made by one of the most important realities of Sicilian wine. Mandrarossa It represents the high-end brand of Cantine Settesoli, which runs a vast cooperative with vineyards in some of the region's most vocated areas. The Vermentino vineyards are located on the company's estates in Menfi and Santa Margherita del Belìce, in an area of rolling hills a few kilometers from the sea, which from an altitude of about 400 meters slope down to the coast with splendid exposures facing south and southwest. The climate is hot and dry, mitigated only by sea breezes and good temperature ranges. The soils, composed of limestone and sand, are particularly suited for growing white grapes. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and cooled to 8 °C, then subjected to soft pressing. After static decantation, the must is started to ferment in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 10-12 °c. Before bottling, the wine matures for four months in steel tanks.
Tasting Notes.: The white Vermentino "Larcéra" Mandrarossa is a sunny and Mediterranean wine, which is appreciated for its expressive immediacy and a clear and juicy profile. A beautiful and bright straw yellow, it expresses an intense and elegant olfactory picture, with delicate floral aromas, vegetal nuances of herbs, aromas of lemon and ripe citrus, white peach, green apple, melon and iodine puffs On the palate it is soft and rich, with a ripe and generous fruit, which stretches into a harmonious and pleasantly satisfying sip. The finish is balanced, fresh and savory. It is ideal to enjoy with first courses with seafood.
Pairings: Excellent with legumes, it can also be uncorked to accompany white meats. Best chosen together with pan-seared rabbit liver.
