A wine of great drinkability, this Barbera d'Asti DOCG "La Crena" from Vietti, ideal to accompany a Piedmontese dinner with classic bagna càuda or tajarin with butter, sage and white truffle. The wine comes from the Crena Cru, in the town of Agliano d'Asti, a super vineyard planted - no less - in 1932, on soil mixed with silt and clay. The wine evolves for 16 months in French oak barrels and is bottled without filtration, a winery choice that can be perceived - and how! - by the concentration of aromas present both on the nose and in the mouth.
Tasting notes: Ruby red. Cherry, blueberry and vanilla aromas emerge on olfactory analysis. The palate is intense, with perfect correspondence of the aromas perceived on the nose, plus an unexpected licorice aroma on the close. Elegant.
Pairings: Excellent throughout a meal, it pairs very well with roasted and braised meats. We recommend it with a tasty Strachitund from Bergamo, for a Piedmont-Lombardy twinning!
