La Barbera d'Alba Ape Reale by Bel Colle is born in the hills of Verduno, a small Piedmontese village not far from Barolo. After harvesting operations are completed, the grapes are fermented in steel vats, where the skins macerate in contact with the must for 8 days. This is followed by a period of aging in French oak tonneaux and large barrels (12 hl) for 12 months and a short bottle aging.
Tasting Notes.: The nose is pleasant, rich and fine, with notes of ripening red fruit and fresher, floral tones. Very fruity on the palate, with fine acidity and medium body.
Pairings: pasta with rich sauces, red and white meats, medium and long aged cheeses.
