Intense ruby red. Notes of ripe small red fruits, aromas of sweet spices, and a light, fresh menthol note stand out on the nose. The palate is well structured, persistent and very pleasant in the fruity aftertaste.

Location | The Guado al Tasso estate is located about 50 miles (80 km) southwest of Florence, near the medieval town of Bolgheri in Maremma. The property, of about 1,000 hectares, stretches from the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea to the hills and includes, in addition to 300 hectares of vineyards, land used for the cultivation of wheat, barley, oats and olive trees, as well as a forest in which there is a herd of Cinta Senese pigs. |

Vinification | Upon arrival in the cellar selected grapes were destemmed and softly pressed. The fermentation and maceration were conducted in thermo-conditioned stainless steel tanks for a period of about 10-15 days at atemperature of 28-30°C. Part of the Merlot and Syrah musts were kept at lower fermentationatemperatures to preserve more of the aromivarietals. |
Aging | Malolactic fermentation took place partly in barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks, and was completed by the end of the year for all varieties. At this point, the Cabernet Sauvignon joined the Merlot and Syrah: thewine thus obtained reencountered the barriques, where it was rested for another 7 months before indulging in bottling. |
