Sella & Mosca

Among the most important winemaking reality in all of Sardinia, that of Sella & Mosca is a cellar that can boast a glorious past and a very dynamic present, so projected to the challenges that the future can offer. Over a century has passed since two Piedmontese began to reclaim the lands on which the over 540 hectares of the vineyards owned by the company extend today: the engineer Sella, grandson of the famous statesman Quintino Sella, and the lawyer Mosca, are were those who kicked off the company. Two adventurers who with them extraordinary work put the foundations of what would become the most prestigious cellar of Sardinia, not far from Alghero, in the province of Sassari, in the North-West of the island. It is no coincidence that those who today visit the estate is able to relive that pioneering atmosphere in a continuous kaleidoscope of perfumes, smells and aromas. Sella & Mosca continues to be a cellar very close to its origins, so there is no wine produced by the Alghero company that is not able to tell in a didactic way what are the deepest characteristics of its territory of origin: From Cannonau to Vermentino, to Carignano and Torbato, ancient white re -proposed to the market thanks to a research work that lasted many years. Everything starts from work between rows, where even what could be as the least influential agronomic practice, is instead adopted in order to maintain an intact and rich environment in its biodiversity and in its ecosystem. Against parasites, an integrated struggle is conducted, for which spontaneous innervation is used and each treatment is targeted and specific. We find the same philosophy in the cellar, where the most modern and advanced oenological technologies are used at the utmost respect for the raw material, always trying to enhance and enhance the intrinsic characteristics of the grapes. Here then is the "Marquis of Villamarina", the "Tanca Farrà", "Terre Bianche Cuvée 161", and then again "Monteoro", "Cala Reale" and "Torbato Brut", without neglecting all the others: names that all refer to the Cantina Sella & Mosca, speaking the language of maximum wine excellence that Sardinia is currently able to offer.
