Nero d'Avola

Nero d'Avola is the most important Sicilian red grape variety. This vine gives life to a very structured, elegant and refined wine, with incredible aromas. Until a few years ago Nero d'Avola was known under the name of Calabrese not because it came from that region, but because in the Sicilian dialect it means from Avola. Known since 1500, this wine produced mainly in Avola in the province of Ragusa, is distinguished by a seductive bouquet of fruits such as berries, cherries and plums and dried flowers with sweet spicy notes. The leaves of the Nero d'Avola vine are large, circular in shape, while the conical-shaped cluster has medium-sized berries with an ellipse shape and a dark blue skin. On Vinolog24 you can choose from the best bottles of Nero d'Avola that stand out for their intense color and for a balanced but decisive taste that creates harmony.
