Considerations: "La Monaca" is a wine that comes from a careful selection of syrah grapes made by the Tasca d'Almerita team within the Sallier de la Tour Estate. An international grape variety that finds, in the DOC of Monreale, a terroir of choice, ideal to make it express itself on excellent levels. The grapes, once harvested, ferment in steel tanks for 15 days at a controlled temperature between 25 and 30 degrees, also carrying out malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 14 months in French oak barrels, and then, after bottling, continues for another 6 months directly in glass. A Syrah with a varied olfactory profile, resonating with a typically Mediterranean freshness.
Tasting Notes.: In the glass it announces itself with a ruby-red hue, with reflections tending to dark purple. The range of aromas that envelops the nose evokes spicy and balsamic sensations, from which the traits of some herbs emerge. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, energetic and muscular, but always harmonious, thanks to a broad and sweeping sip; it closes with a long finish.
Pairings: Perfect with main courses of meat, both white and red, it is also worth trying with game. Smashing with a sausage accompanied by fennel and oranges.
