Parallel 41 is one of the two most representative whites, along with Terre Bianche Cuvée 161, from the Sella & Mosca winery: an elegant and structured white, made from a skillful blend of peat and sauvignon blanc-remember that the Alghero winery is one of the few, with its Le Arenarie, to produce a pure sauvignon blanc in Sardinia-and partly elevated in fine oak barrels. The name is a tribute to the parallel that unites the Catalan center with the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona, a city to which Alghero is particularly linked for exquisitely historical and cultural reasons, and continuing all the way to New York.
Tasting Notes: In the Parallel 41 goblet, it shows a charged and luminous straw-yellow guise, enlivened by pale gold highlights. The nose gives pronounced and intense sensations of acacia and broom flower honey, citrus peel and tropical fruit, framed by varietal notes and the vanilla notes of wood. On the palate, Parallel 41 is a structured and smooth wine with great personality, characterized by good freshness and decisive sapidity. A full-bodied and balanced wine with fine aromas and great persistence.
Pairings: Parallelo 41 is a white of rande character but at the same time it is capable of demonstrating great versatility: excellent as an aperitif, perfect to accompany an important moment, perhaps accompanied by oysters and raw cannolicchi, at the table it will stand out with appetizers such as warm seafood salad or with salmon and avocado tartare, with sophisticated first courses such as seafood carbonara or with complex main courses such as herb seared amberjack fillet with stracciata di burrata.
