Tasting Notes: Gives a beautiful deep garnet red color to the eye. The nose is broad and persistent, rich in scents reminiscent of ripe red berry fruit, and then shot through with varietal and vegetal nuances. The mouth is full-bodied, well-calibrated in tannic texture and of good length.
Pairings: Best paired with meat-based second courses, it is best tried with roast leg of lamb.
Considerations: Strength and envelopment are found united in the same sip, which is called in this case "Feld," a South Tyrolean red produced by Kaltern and made from a blend of the two internationals cabernet and merlot. It matures for a year in French oak barrels, then completes with an additional short rest in large barrels. Deep and dark on the one hand, then on the other hand also gentle and caressing, this is a well interpreted red, capable of uniting all together fruit, varietal notes and tertiary tones. With roasted meats and especially with roast lamb, it is a red that fits in like a charm.
