Tenuta il Bosco

It is in the Middle Ages that the origins of Tenuta il Bosco in Zenevredo date back, in the Oltrepò Pavese, when the Benedictine monks laughed at the ground, after a long abandonment, making the vine flourish.

In this land also known by the name of "Vecchio Piemonte", at the end of the nineteenth century Italian spumantistic production began, thanks to the pinot black grapes, a grape variety of excellence particularly suitable for being vinified in white and then giving rise to noble sparkling wines products with the classic method.

When it was purchased in 1987 by the Zonin family, the hectares in Vigna della Tenuta were only 30. "The year after year the vital surface was expanded. Planting new vineyards is a stimulating experience, the result of profound assessments of the soil and the site, of studies for new clonal selections and new breeding systems. It is also the beginning of a new cycle, because it means to think of that wine, those perfumes and those aromas that will originate from the new vines, "says Agronomic Manager Roberto Lanciotti.

Today, after years of investments made by the Zonin family in the area, the estate includes 152 hectares of owned vineyards.

In this phase of expansion, the great wealth of natives noble varieties such as the surprising Bonarda and La Barbera, which reach exceptional quality standards, has been privileged. But many attentions have been reserved for the main grape variety of the Oltrepò -The Pinot Nero- who for over two centuries has expressed all his class and personality.
