Tasting Notes: It is a beautiful ruby red in the glass, with light garnet highlights at the rim. The nose is typical and varietal, rich in ripe red fruit such as cherry and wild strawberry, then complemented by sweet spices and vanilla nuances. Balanced and harmonious the sip, well worked in the tannic texture and of excellent length.
Pairings: Excellent with noble poultry, it is best paired with roast turkey.
Considerations: On clay and sandy soils, in a distinctly alpine microclimate, grow the pinot noir vines from which the grapes that yield Erste + Neue's Pinot Noir Reserve "Puntay" are harvested. After a short resting period in large barrels, it ages for 15 months in barriques, and comes up with a sip where the ripe integrity of the fruit blends perfectly with the taste-olfactory elegance released by the passage in wood. It is a perfect Pinot Noir to uncork when there are dishes of noble poultry or feathered game at the table.
