Tasting Notes: The eye shows a beautiful ruby red color, intense and deep. The nose opens on fruity scents of dark cherry and blackberry, followed by spicy tertiary flavors. The taste is well delineated in the tannic texture, full in body, balanced and long in persistence.
Pairings: Best paired with aged cheeses or meat dishes, try it with veal roulades with sage.
Considerations: Vinified in stainless steel and left to age in barriques and large oak barrels, Erste + Neue's Lagrein "Puntay" is a South Tyrolean red capable of reminding us of how much beauty the South Tyrolean lands can give us when it comes to wine. Interpreted in the "Riserva" version, it expresses itself in an intense and never submissive sip, deep and elegant in the aromas, then well delineated in the taste. Excellent to accompany all meat-based second courses, you will also find it perfect to pair with aged cheeses. It is an excellent Lagrein.
