The Colterenzio Lafoa Pinot Noir Reserve is a pure expression of the variety of the same name from 15- to 35-year-old vineyards located at about 400 meters above sea level. Most of the grapes come from soils of morainic origin, composed of porphyritic and dolomitic rocks, while the remainder is grown on clay-limestone soils rich in gravel. In the winery, alcoholic fermentation takes place in wooden barrels for about 3 weeks with maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation of the mass, also in wooden barrels. The aging period lasts one year and occurs partly in new and partly in second and third passage barriques.

Tasting Notes.: In the glass, Colterenzio's South Tyrolean Pinot Noir 'Lafoa' exhibits a pure ruby red guise. The olfactory panorama ranges from scents of berries, cherry, citrus peel and lavender to pleasant spicy memories. The palate is refined and complex, with velvety tannins following the clean, full and fresh flavor development. Long finish consistent with the sensations on the nose.

Pairings: Roasts, Grilled red meats, Stewed red meats, Wild game, Mature cheeses, Blue cheeses.
