Amarone della Valpolicella Corte Giara La Groletta is produced by the Allegrini family, protagonists in the agricultural history of Fumane since the 16th century. Allegrini is closely linked to the Valpolicella DOC, which originated in the province of Verona, and with choices made with great foresight, the winery is now one of the leaders in Italy, and it is in the family's Valpolicella wines that new generations of winemakers take their cue. To keep up with the company's exponential growth and reach a wider range of consumers by diversifying its products, Allegrini founded other brands, including Corte Giara. This brand established in 1989 produces young, innovative wines suitable for any convivial setting.

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Corte Giara La Groletta is a very difficult wine to produce, as the grape drying phase is fundamental and very delicate. It is made with 70% of the best Corvina Veronese grapes and 30% Rondinella grapes harvested at the peak of ripeness to have a higher sugar concentration. The soil where the vineyards are grown is located in the hilly area of Valpolicella and is very varied, mostly clay and limestone. The drying of the grapes takes place in fruit lofts for 3-4 months with weight loss of 40% of the original harvest weight. The grapes are then destemmed and softly crushed in the first half of January and are ready for vinification, which takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature between 22 and 24 days with daily pumping over. It is aged for 5 months in stainless steel, 15 months in wood, half the time in Slavonian oak barrels and half in second-passage barriques, and before being sold it rests in bottle for 6 months. Ruby red of excellent intensity, almost opaque. Red fruit overripe but still crisp and pulpy. Spicy notes, especially pepper and cloves, appear in the background, followed by mineral hints and a deep tobacco nuance. Full, enveloping and velvety. The body, imposing and solid, manages to maintain an elegant and silky profile thanks to perfect and balanced acidity, sweet tannins and perfectly melted.
