The estate stands on the southern slope of the Municipality of Montalcino, at 450 meters above sea level, with an extension of 540 hectares, 144 of which cultivated with vineyard. It enjoys a favorable position, thanks to the barrier consisting of Monte Amiata and the influenza exerted on the climate from the Tyrrhenian Sea, of a perfect exposure at noon and soils particularly voked to the cultivation of the vine, thanks to the thin clay matrix rich in limestone and skeleton . Col' Orcia, a historic company of Montalcino, today owned by the family Marone Cinzano, the conversion process began in 2010 to obtain organic certification - becoming the largest biological company in all of Tuscany - then followed by the biodynamic choice. The production philosophy is characterized by the treatment of detail reserved for each phase of the production process: rigorously manual harvest, fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, wood maturation in Slavonian oak barrels and in French oak barrels. Great attention to nature was also placed in the realization of the aging cellar, which dates back to 1990, perfectly inserted in the green of Mediterranean vegetation. Axent last year, the jewel of the house, a sumptuous version of Brunello di Montalcino Reserve Poggio al Vento.
