An exemplary expression of Aglianico di Taurasi, "Radici" represents the entire history of Irpinian viticulture. Harvest after harvest, never failing to live up to expectations, the Taurasi par excellence of Mastroberardino preserves intact the energetic personality and full-bodied structure that have made it famous throughout the world. A great classic, an unfailing red wine, whose vinification takes place in steel with a long maceration with the skins and whose maturation takes place in barriques and oak barrels for a period of about 24 months, followed by another two years of aging in the bottle.
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red, the nose offers a broad, complex, intense bouquet with hints reminiscent of cherry, violet, berries and a distinctive spicy aroma. The palate is enveloping and elegant, characterized by an impeccably crafted tannic texture. Aromas of plum and black cherry outline the finish, which is very persistent.
Pairings: Throughout a meal, it accompanies roasted red meats, dishes with spices or truffles and aged cheeses.

History | The twinning of Aglianico grape selections from the Montemarano and Mirabella Eclano estates results in Radici Taurasi, the emblematic label of classic winemaking signed Mastroberardino. Montemarano represents a historic site in the production of Taurasi, located in the southernmost part of the area in DOCG. Here the pronounced temperature swings and slower ripening determine the conditions for a late harvest, usually in November, offering grapes richer in noble tannins and acidity, such as to enhance the longevity characters. Mirabella Eclano is the epicenter of production, research and experimentation on Aglianico, which is the main grape variety grown in Mirabella. |
