La Barbera Monferrato Superiore DOCG "Rivalta" of Villa Sparina has been produced since 1996 with only grapes barbera facing south and placed at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level. The soil is clay and limestone, perfect for giving elegance and long life to a wine so fine. The average age of the vineyard is 30 years, the harvest è manual and takes place in mid-October, the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in wood for fourteen months. The result is a wine of particular elegance and complexity.
Tasting Notes.: It presents color ruby red intense and bright. A nose of great elegance introduces a good complexity of aroma, opens with hints of ci cherry black and balsamic notes and mentholated, then the aroma evolves on puffs of spice and coffee. Good body and nice smoothness, it does not lack freshness and backbone. A surprise the finish, long and enriched by aromas of fruit and spice.
Pairings: Important first courses, game or aged cheeses are needed for this wine.
