The name of the line was inspired by the most important year for the production and trade of the Sicilian wine, 1921; in the 1920s the fortune and spread of Marsala gave new light to the whole of Sicily, it was in fact the first wine to be marketed in Europe, especially in France and the United Kingdom. The bottle of Real Academia appears to be adorned with typical Sicilian lace and recalls the fabrics used by local women in the early decades of the 20th century.
