It is a Red like no other. Montalbera winery's "Fuori Catalogo" comes to us directly from Piedmont, to offer us a sip that is the child of a blend in which regional grape varieties that are in a sense considered "minor" play the part. But there is really nothing minor about the "Fuori Catalogo," because barbera, ruchè and grignolino really come together in unison, and with their aging in steel they come to offer a drink that is indeed smooth, graceful and carefree, but at the same time of great quality. It is a Rosso del Piemonte that holds high the bar for national winemaking.
Tasting Notes: Dresses the glass a beautiful ruby red, tending to garnet with age. Hints of blueberry and hints of berry jam dictate the pace of the nose, which perceives a timely and clean olfactory bouquet. The taste is silky and harmonious, slightly fresh and well balanced, long in persistence.
Pairings: Versatile in pairings, it is excellent together with agnolotti with meat sauce.
