Petra Ceci is an evocative red that comes from 100% Aglianico grapes and a predominantly calcareous, clay soil, which imparts a good minerality to the wine. Its harvest time is September, and while vinification is by cold pre-maceration, there is maceration for about 20 days on the skins at controlled temperatures. It undergoes malolactic fermentation and aging in steel. It is distinguished by a very deep ruby red color, with reflections tending toward violet. Its bouquet is intense, complex and pleasantly persistent, with its hints of small red fruits and iris. In the mouth it releases its powerful and fruity side, with flavors of cherry and plum. It is the ideal wine to pair amiably with barbecued and braised red meats, game and venison, charcuterie boards and cheeses. Absolutely try it with roasted chestnuts.
