Cabernet Sauvignon Missoni is an IGT (acronym signaling Indicazione Geografica Tipica) Terre Siciliane wine product . A grape variety widespread in France, particularly in the Bordeaux area and later planted in Australia, California, New Zealand, South Africa and Italy. This still red wine produced by Sicilian wineries Feudi del Pisciotto takes body from a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Missoni Cabernet Sauvignon is made from the red berry fruit of Sicilian vineyards raised 250 meters above sea level in the countryside of Niscemi, in the province of Caltanissetta. The vines, grown in clay soil covered with sand, conglomerates and calcareous tuffs. Located as the crow flies 5 kilometers from the sea, the vineyards benefit both from the height from which sea breezes come and from favorable temperatures whose compensator is the sea itself. A thick Cabernet Sauvignon made from grapes harvested exclusively by hand in the first half of October. Then the grapes are crushed inside tanks that drop the must produced by gravity. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature inside of stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is followed by 10 months of aging inside both new and second-passage oak barriques, after which the wine is bottled and aged in bottles for a minimum of 8 months before being released, resulting in a fine alcoholic beverage that is appreciated even outside the borders of the Bel Paese. Intense ruby red. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing and refined aromas that start with hints of plum, black currant and black cherry followed by aromas of violet, blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, chocolate and eucalyptus. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a tannic attack that is balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, with pleasing smoothness. The finish is persistent with flavors of plum, black currant and black cherry.
