The Ferrari Julius Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore is a classic method sparkling wine. A timeless signature cru that has become a legend. It is blended from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the Maso Pianizza varietal exposed at 500-600 meters southwest in the municipality of Trento, Trentino Alto Adige. The Ferrari Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore boasts DOC recognition. The wineries Ferrari were born from the dream of winemaker Giulio Ferrari of creating a wine in Italy in the wake of French Champagne. Annual production was very few bottles with prohibitive cost, but in 1952 the winery was taken over by local wine seller Bruno Lunelli. The winemaking skills of Ferrari and Lunelli's entrepreneurial skills decreed the success of the winery, which increased production to 100,000 bottles annually. Even today, the winery Ferrari makes exclusively Metodo Classico sparkling wines. The Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore was born in 1972 and has since won countless awards both in Italy and abroad as a symbol of made-in-Italy elegance. The Chardonnay grapes for the Ferrari Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore are highly selected and are rigorously hand-picked no earlier than mid-September. They are aged for 10 years on their own cultured yeasts, which gives the winery's flagship Spumante Riserva del Fondatore a lingering hint of acacia honey, ripe hay and floral notes.

Tasting Notes.: Very fine and persistent perlage. Brilliant straw color with golden highlights. Bouquet of rare intensity and fragrance, in which the varietal fruitiness is in perfect harmony with hints of honey, combined with notes of white chocolate, spices and citrus. Elegant and harmonious, velvety-bodied and composite: the fragrances of acacia honey and ripe hay combine well with floral notes. The impact is noble and of remarkable persistence.
