Long known as Tocai Friulano, although profoundly different from the Hungarian grape variety of the same name, it is the quintessential Friulian white wine, the one that more than any other identifies with the territory in which it is born. The result is taut, mineral wines with excellent structure, always characterized by the presence of a certain minerality. Best drunk chilled when young, these are bottles that gain depth with the passage of time, even after several years in the cellar.
Tasting Notes.: Straw yellow with greenish highlights, the nose expresses a lovely bouquet ranging from the aromatic herbs typical of the variety to pleasant fruity and slightly floral hints. The background is a diffuse minerality that slowly introduces a dry, full taste with excellent structure and balance. Freshness and acidity chase each other and meet before a lovely finish of excellent persistence.
Pairings: Full and responsive, Puiatti's Friulano pairs well with a typical appetizer of Prosciutto di San Daniele. Also with grilled white meats.
