Chianti Classico 2018 Riserva Docg Ducale - Ruffino: Considerations.
Right from the start, from 1927, Ruffino's Chianti Classico "Riserva Ducale" experienced extraordinary success. A point of reference for the entire territory, it is a red that perfectly interprets what are the best characteristics of Chianti: a certain fragrance flanked by a sure finesse, peculiarities that have contributed to making it loved for generations. The grapes come from some of the best areas of the appellation, from Gretole and Santedame to Castellina in Chianti. After vinification in steel, it is left to mature for about two years in large barrels and cement tanks. Once blended it rests for another three months in bottle.
Tasting Notes.: To the eye it is a beautiful ruby red. The nose opens on floral hints of violets, then continues with hints of black cherries, berries and plums, and closes on tones of tobacco, leather, white pepper and flint. The palate is balanced, fresh and rightly tannic, with excellent structure and long persistence.
Pairings: Throughout a meal, it goes well with typical dishes such as pasta with meat sauce, mushroom risotto, cured meats and long aged cheeses. Excellent with grilled meats.
