Primitivo is one of the most representative grapes of the entire Apulian region. Masseria Altemura therefore decides to present it with a stylistically modern version, the "Altemura," in which the olfactory range moves on wide and layered nuances, very captivating. The grapes are harvested at advanced ripeness, then fermented for 21 days at a temperature between 25 and 28 degrees. This is followed by aging, in which the wine remains for 14 months in French oak tonneaux; after bottling, a further 8-month maturation phase in glass follows. An austere Primitivo di Manduria DOC, rich and pulpy in the mouth, encapsulating the beauty of the Salento peninsula.
Tasting Notes.: Very intense to the eye, with a hue reminiscent of a purplish color. The bouquet of aromas on the nose tells of aromas that bring back to small berries, red and black, very ripe, ready to be picked, alternating with spicy and balsamic nuances. In the mouth it is full-bodied, swaddling, with a warm and soft sip.
Pairings: Very versatile in the kitchen, it pairs well with savory dishes full of important flavors dominated by spices. Try it with a turmeric and saffron chicken.
