It is thanks to its special soil and climate conditions that Irpinia has established itself as one of Italy's great wine territories. A place of incredible charm, capable of giving some of the best whites in the Peninsula and rich and elegant reds. It is here that Aglianico has found a home and where it is able to express itself at its best. A wine, this DOC, that is vinified in steel and left to mature in third- and fourth-passage barriques for 10 months, followed by a few more months of bottle aging.
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red, the nose reveals intense aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry, violet and spice. The palate is elegant and soft, characterized by notes reminiscent of wild berries and strawberry jam. Fresh, balanced, deep, it closes with a finish of excellent persistence.
Pairings: Throughout the meal, it is excellent with soups, with meat dishes, white and red meats. Ideal with medium-aged cheeses.

History | The twinning of Aglianico grape selections from the Montemarano and Mirabella Eclano estates results in Radici Taurasi, the emblematic label of Mastroberardino's signature classic viticulture. Montemarano represents a historic site in the production of Taurasi, located in the southernmost part of the area at DOCG. Here the pronounced temperature swings and slower ripening determine the conditions for a late harvest, usually in November, offering grapes richer in noble tannins and acidity, such as to enhance the longevity characters. Mirabella Eclano is the epicenter of production, research and experimentation on Aglianico, which is the main grape variety grown in Mirabella. |
