Montevertine is a locality inhabited since the 11th century. Traces of the original building, undoubtedly defensive in character, later transformed into a rural dwelling, are still visible. Montevertine was purchased in 1967 by Sergio Manetti, then a steel industrialist, as a vacation home. He restored the house, making it habitable, and immediately planted two hectares of vines and set up a small winery with the idea of producing some wine for his friends and clients. The first vintage produced, 1971, was decent and Sergio Manetti thought of sending some bottles to Vinitaly in Verona through the Chamber of Commerce of Siena.

Address: Loc. Montevertine - 53017 Radda in Chianti SIIt was a great success, and it so enthused Sergio that after a few years he finally abandoned the industrial activity to devote himself solely to wine, supported by the advice of Giulio Gambelli and with the support of Bruno Bini, the trusted cellarman. New vineyards were planted, new cellars were built, and the company's growth never stopped. Sergio Manetti passed away in November 2000, and since that day the farm has been run by his son Martino Manetti, who keeps intact the values of tradition that have always been the banner of Montevertine.
