Sassicaia as all the greatest wines of history fascinates not only for its excellent organoleptic skills, but above all for what it represents. With its genesis the red noble was the protagonist of the theater of the evolution of Italian wine and for many producers it was an invitation to arm himself with a more modern oenology. Before the Sassicaia Bolgheri was reputed to a minor wine production area, with the stain of being in the pre era Leopoldina marshy area. The Mario Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, a man of great culture with in itself the gene of rebellion, never gave himself to won and continued for years to experiment in the cellar to create a red in the French manner. After meeting Giacomo Tachis, Enfant Prodige winemaker who had passed through the elegant Bordeaux School of Emile Peynaud, went to action, and in 1971 with the assembly of three different vintages (1966, 1967, 1968 plus a nonnulla of 1965 ), the first real bottle of Sassicaia was born. The bordolean cut had so triumphed in Italy and along with him the barrique: the old writings could be torn to begin with a zero point, reinventing the concept of elegance as it had happened in fashion and contemporary art.
