Address: From Siena take the Cassia towards Rome, the company is 1.5 km from the junction of Montalcino. The 49 hectares of vineyards that constitute altesino, mostly vineyated in Sangiovese, are located in five different sub-dones of the Montalcino area: two in the north-east part (Altesino and Grill), a north-west (Montosoli, the corporate jewel ), one in Sant'Angelo in Colle (Pianizzine), one in Castelnuovo dell'Abate (Velona). The history of this cellar marked some of the most important stages for the wine evolution of the territory: in 1975 Altesino introduced the first Brunello "Cru", the Montosoli, and in 1979 the first experiments with the barriques. The company was born precisely in the 1970s thanks to the interrependent passion of a group of Milanese entrepreneurs and since 2002 it has been owned by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, who continues its work with great intelligence. The historic headquarters is the fifteenth-century Palazzo Altesi, built by the Tricerchi family. Among the three wonderful versions of Brunello proposals this year, struggle brushed between the fresh elegance of Montosoli 2014 and the hottest opulence of the 2013 reserve, with the "vintage" version detached by a corpse.
